Because of this trouble, we were not able to finish the projects that needed to be completed before July, so I had to stay in Guatemala. But God is very faithful, and everything that He does works out for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

I like to imagine each person that is sitting down to read this letter. I imagine that some of you are smiling and others are remembering the days that you were in the Lela Obraje village. Maybe some of you are remembering a face of a child or even having feelings of homesickness remembering the times you have had in Guatemala. I hope I have captured your attention now, because I want to say, “Hola and I love you all so very much. I deeply miss all of you and I give you thanks from the bottom of my heart for being part of the grand family of Global Missions of Mercy. Each of you is a blessing.”

In my daily prayers, I pray that the Lord take notice of everything all of you do for the children in the village, for each family in Lela Obraje, for the staff here, and for me. None of us deserve the love and care that you show us through your support, but all of us here make an effort every day of our lives to bring about the will of our Creator and Savior through our obedience. We give Him all of the glory and honor for everything that is accomplished.

In the last eight years, we have seen how the work of the Lord has been manifested and multiplied His work with materials. Specific examples of this manifestation of materials are as follows: We have the Highland Park school with five classrooms completely finished and being used five days a week; two new classrooms that only need a floor, windows, and doors; a playground; four completed bathrooms and 16 sinks that the children use every day; construction of a septic tank, four more bathrooms, and 14 more sinks in progress; the feeding center and kitchen that are in use five full days a week (I’m sure this is the area the students enjoy the most.); an office that is filled with school supplies and medicine; two bathrooms for the staff; an area with lemon trees and flowers; and a parking area that will be remodeled and defined when we finish our last construction project in the village. Praise the Lord who provides for our every need! He has blessed us with everything we need to work in the village of Lela Obraje!

In the spiritual area, Lela Obraje village is being transformed every day. We have 153 students in the school, and we have been blessed with teachers that not only teach the students, but also share the Gospel to them with their own testimonies of how God has worked in their lives. In turn, the kids take what they hear to their families. The ladies in the village come to the ministry all of the time for prayer or for advice in different situations they are experiencing in their lives. The men in the village also have a ministry led by Daniel and Jorge. Daniel and Jorge visit the men’s houses every Wednesday and give them a basket of food and products for their houses and they share the Lord with them, which is, of course, the most important part. On Thursdays, they lead a Bible study with the men, and many men have received Jesus as their Lord and Savior and have started seeking His will in their own lives. Praise His name for the spiritual growth that is witnessed every day!

We have seen miracles inside the families in the village also. Here are just a few examples. We have seen the Lord protect the Christian people from criminals. We have seen people that are near death made well. And we have seen how the Lord restores marriages and broken homes. There have been many more miracles in the lives of the children, adults, and elderly, but the greatest miracle I have seen is that countless people from Lela Obraje village now have a love for and fear of our Lord God. Their lives have been changed. They have a new strength and joy in their hearts. They have hope, and it doesn’t matter what is happening in their lives. They continue to live their lives for the Lord. This can only be a miracle from the Lord.

The Lord is able to do all things, but I know that the Lord has used you to make all of this possible. Your obedience, love, prayers, and support are making a difference. Thank you for keeping us in your hearts. Please know that the Lord has a purpose for you in your daily lives and that He has a purpose for you in this ministry. Standing together in agreement and in our commitment to the Lord and staying focused on fundamental Biblical standards are what will sustain this ministry. We will be able to continue giving our testimony of the love of the Lord and His faithfulness and extend the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His Kingdom here on the earth. Jesus said it like this in John 4:34. “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing His work.”

I want to reiterate with all of my heart the thankfulness I have for you. I know that the Lord with fulfill the longings of your heart if you let Him, and He will help you to continue supporting the work that we are doing here. Every one of you is an important piece for the continuing and the growing of Global Missions of Mercy. I pray that the loving and merciful Father bless you in a great way, keep you from all evil, sustain you with His strength, and cover you with His infinite love.

In the love of Christ,

Sarita
